2012 Copper Man – First Podium Finish

My dream of a top 3 finish and chance to be on the podium with our National Anthem playing partially came true Saturday. I finished in third place in the Copperman Triathlon, but when it came time to stand on the podium, I was many miles south driving home to Pelkie where my amazing little sister was about to get married! The podium can wait! The National Anthem probably wasn’t being played anyway, so big deal… I also would have gotten to stand on the top podium for my age group. Doesn’t matter–the race was important to me, but the glory is God’s for blessing me in some big ways. For the first time in a race this year, I felt like I balanced my sports and gave as much as I possibly could on the course. It’s a great feeling. Check out my race report! Link is here!
